I would never ever purposefully plant mayapples in my garden, they are a nuisance and are extremely toxic, not just to eat but to touch as well. My toddler bent down and gave one a hug briefly before I could stop her, and her eyes swelled up with a rash all over her face. The toxic in the leaves can even cause blindness. There are reports of people dying after using the leaves to make tea. Please, people, don’t plant this in your garden.
